Motel 6 Unveils App for iPhone and iPod Touch
The Motel 6 App is available free of cost from the App Store. The free apps are expected to assist Motel 6 guests to quickly find and book rooms at more than 1,100 locations in the United States and Canada.
“As more of our guests turn to their iPhones for quick access to information on the go, it is clear that a Motel 6 App for iPhone and iPod Touch is the perfect tool to help guests locate and book Motel 6 accommodations during their travels,” said Olivier Poriot, CEO of Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6, in a statement . “Now guests have the ability to locate and reserve a room at Motel 6 while on the go.”
Standard amenities offered by Motel 6 include free local phone calls, no long-distance access charges, free morning coffee and expanded cable channel line-up.
The app leverages the iPhone 's built-in GPS to locate the closest location available. Once the Motel 6 location is identified, the App provides guests with the details for their visit, including each location's amenities, brand policies, property images and rates. Locations are also searchable using an airport code, city or state.
Company officials said that registered members can gain from the My Motel 6 feature, where their account information and upcoming reservations are available for viewing. First-time guests can create an online account in a few easy steps.
Recently , Motel 6 celebrated Earth Day by joining with its local communities to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). As part of the program, Motel 6 and Studio 6 locations in North America collect pop tabs from aluminum cans to benefit RMHC.
