Ghost Hound is geproduceerd door de bekende studio Production IG (Ghost In The Shell) die de talenten van zowel Shirow Masmune (Appleseed) als van Ryutaro Nakamura (Serial Experiments Lain) wist te combineren tot een onvergetelijke hypnotische thriller.Deel 2 rond de drie teenagers uit het dorpje Suiten. Taro, zoon van een sake-brouwer, overleefde een ontvoering wanneer hij drie was, zijn oudere zus daarentegen had helaas niet zo veel geluk. Door dit tragedie leeft Taro verder met deze nachtmerrie en bezoekt regelmatig een psychiater. Makato is dan weer een eenzaat. Een week na de kidnapping van Taros zus pleegt zijn vader zonder enige reden zelfmoord. De derde tiener, Masayuki, is een luid, vervelend ventje, zo vervelend zelfs dat een mede-scholier op zijn vorige school zelfmoord pleegde door zijn toedoen.

The end of this episode is a great anti-advertisement for connectivity and the future. It really is a scary thing when you get down to it.
My sense is that Lain knows and doesn’t know, her father knows and approves, her mother knows and disapproves. What gets me is her sister! What’s her agenda? Does she have one? I’ve never been able to understand her.
