Deadwood - With nearly 600 pin shining beauties entered in 25 categories for this year's contest Kool Deadwood Nites car, carefully choosing the winners was not easy for the crew this year's judges. But the ceremony Sunday Classic competition held prices of cars in the parking lot of the Visitor Centre, said the best of the best.

Kool Deadwood Nites Selection Committee, which is the winner and the car show for next year was Ron Meis lead for his 1940 Ford truck. Meis has also won the category of specialty, best use of color and design with his '40 Ford.

Choice Award winning House was Mike Grant of Yankton with his 1936 Chevy Coupe. Grant also took honors the best Street Rod specialty in this category with its '36 Coupe.

All winners specialty award category received a trophy and a pocket watch Kool Deadwood Nites.

Deadwood Chamber of Commerce Milos George said that enrollment was up slightly from 2010.

"We had 590 in total, which is registered up to about 10 cars last year," said Milos. "Our biggest year was 620."

"Things went very well," said Milos."This is probably the biggest crowd we had Kool Nites concerts in my 13 years with the chamber. Everything went very well together. The judges of car did a phenomenal job, the bands were excellent and our crew in the room and all the volunteers did another great event Deadwood. "
