Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point ... - Maddux Tampa Bay News Wire

Hudson, Florida (August 2011) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced the recipients of its second quarter Volunteer Five Star and One Star Awards. The recipients for the Five Star Award are Kathleen Hamilton, Anna Hansen and Tom Runnions.

Kathleen Hamilton started volunteering in February 2008 and she has 850 hours.  Kathy volunteers in Human Resources. She always has a smile on her face and is eager to assist in any way that she can. No matter the project, big or small, Kathy jumps in and takes on the challenge. If she comes in and everyone is too busy to give her instruction, she automatically looks for things that need to be done, such as making up packets in advance, organizing our supplies, or filing. Kathy was very instrumental in helping with three projects over the past year. She helped cover during the Health Assessments by coming in 5:00 am to help. Kathy also helped with an extremely time-consuming and involved project that involved over 1,000 files. The third project was during the holidays. When she saw the families we were sponsoring listed on the board she took it upon herself to purchase extra gifts for the families. This giving and caring comes from the kindness of her heart. Kathy truly deserves the 5 Star Volunteer Award.

Anna Hansen started volunteering in March 1994 and has 2,526 hours. Anna volunteers as a Courier on Thursday afternoons. Anna is always polite, courteous and has a positive attitude at all times even when they are extremely busy. Anna offers to help promptly in any way she can. She provides excellent service to our patients, visitors, staff and other volunteers. When a problem arises she offers solutions and helps maintain a safe work area. Anna’s many years of superior work volunteering is the reason she deserves the 5 Star Volunteer Award.

Tom Runnions started volunteering in May 2008, and has 857 hours. Tom volunteers in Welcome Center A. He is wonderful with anyone that comes into the hospital. He goes out of his way to help them with excellent service. He is very friendly and caring and he is able to handle the most difficult situations with a smile and kind word. Tom is also willing to substitute when others cannot come in to volunteer. He is an outstanding example of what a volunteer is and he is an asset to the hospital and the Volunteer Organization. Tom is truly deserving of the 5 Star Volunteer Award.
