You're missing the point. You can't live on that, even in Michigan. Add to that the expense of packing up and moving, coming to MI first to FIND a place to live, etc. Sorry, that wage would only work for some kid with no expenses and a kid with no expenses probably doesn't have the "strong background in retail work and some supervisory experience.." the job requires. That wage is a JOKE. It doesn't say if this is an hourly position or salaried but I'm betting the latter. Salaried workers don't work 40 hours a week. They are expected to work much more....I would rather work for $10-15/hour (the latter would be $30,000/yr) and know I will get OT if I go over 40 in the week than be a slave at $30,000 and forced to work 60 or more hours a week even if it DOES include full benefits. Basically, a salaried employee would be making right around $10/hour (assuming they were "only" working 50 hours a week...in my experience, few people in a managerial position can get away with working only 50hr/week). Nope, I wouldn't move across the state, much less from another state, to take a job with that much responsibility for such low wages.
